10 of the Best Ikea Hacks

I have always had a love for Ikea but as this Swedish furniture gains popularity, the simple designs tend to lose that unique creative feel.  Ikea is featured on multiple design shows, utilized for retail displays, and busting out of almost every family vehicle.  The question now becomes, “how to do I make these items more unique?”

Ikea Hacks have overrun Pinterest for this exact reason.  I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on something, but if I can grab something affordable from Ikea and work my magic… unique style!

I did my first Ikea hack just a few months ago. I spray painted Ikea’s Vittsjo shelving unit gold and covered two of the shelves in marble paper so that it would work in our space, take a look at it here Ikea Hack: Gold Shelving Unit.

Although I have only recently started doing some small simple DIY’s, I seem to find myself in stores now, unable to justify the price of a great piece of furniture and then think… what can I hack to make this for cheap?
